Who’s Who: Dr. Rihab Abdul Aziz Hasanain, senior consultant at multinational health firm IQVIA

Dr. Rihab Abdul Aziz Hasanain joined multinational health firm IQVIA in 2020 to leverage her expertise in the implementation of electronic medical record systems and state-of-the-art solutions.

Hasanain joined the company as a change management consultant and within three months was promoted to senior consultant. She now manages one of the company’s projects in the UAE.

She has designed strategies and solutions to overcome social and technical barriers when implementing EMR systems, and has also published numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at international conferences.

In early 2020, Hasanain capitalized on her research skills to help in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic by collaborating on a project that evaluated a portable, rapid diagnostic tool for use around the world.

In 2018, at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Hasanain worked as assistant professor of management, and taught health services management and business skills courses. In addition, she moderated a panel discussion on CSR and women’s leadership, with panelists from STC, PwC, Thiqah and Tadawul. She also served as a mentor and judge at the MIT Hacking Medicine event.

Hasanain’s passion to generate social change was the main inspiration behind her effort in 2016 to found her own enterprise in Riyadh, Blooming Bs (Blooming Box, Brain & Body). Blooming Bs offers healthy lunchboxes and school canteen choices, and raises awareness of the importance of a balanced lifestyle.

Hasanain holds bachelor’s, master’s and Ph.D. degrees in healthcare services management. She is also a Prosci-certified change management practitioner.
